AI-ChatGPT
At first, let us see several pictures.
When you encounter this situation, do you feel happy or fearful? Whenever new technology emerges or existing technology makes significant advances, I often encounter friends discussing the pros and cons of technology.
For example, using ChatGPT as an example, it can play a significant positive role in our teaching by helping us collect materials, provide ideas, and offer more assistance to students.
However, it can also have negative effects on students and ourselves if we become overly reliant on ChatGPT, losing our own ideas and living in fear of eventually being replaced by artificial intelligence.
My first viewpoint is that humans invent and develop technology, and humans also use technology.
Technology itself is neither good nor bad, and the results depend on how humans use these new technologies.
I believe that we should fully explore the benefits brought about by new technologies and avoid the negative effects of inappropriate use.
As an English teacher, when using ChatGPT, we should also hold this belief and leverage its advantages to help us teach and improve our teaching abilities.
What do you think about the emergence of ChatGPT? Please feel free to leave a comment in the comment section so we can discuss it together.

After the launch of ChatGPT, I was also afraid of being replaced by AI, especially as an English teacher, cause it is too ''smart" to learn the data and write too fast! However, I find that if we don't overly rely on it, it can only act as an assistant to help us improve our efficiency and improve our English proficiency. Let's explore more of its possibilities!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's quite "creepy" to see that such a tool can generate so much useful information in seconds. However, I don't think it can totally replace the role of a teacher, cuz the teacher can not only impart knowledge, but also act like a mentor to convey some values, like moral issues.
